HANDS ON ECO-DIGITAL GUARDIANS

I founded a project named "ECO-DIGITAL GUARDIANS" aiming to raise awareness on environmental problems in children aged between 6-10, here is a short look to our pre-thoughts: eco digital guardians website.

We decided to write a story and made our characters and mascot collaboratively. The story consisted of ten chapters for each school in the project. Here is the flipbook of the English version.

Thanks to this project I decided to take some virtual classes from different websites and universities, I learnt a lot on the road and wanted to teach those to our students too. We took a field trip to a hobby garden in Beylikdüzü Municipality in İstanbul and the agriculture engineer there showed us how to make compost and students were able to touch mud, clay and even worms. Students took a stroll through the garden and inspected different flowers, plants and trees.

After that they learnt about seed bombs and made their own to take home. While doing the compost and seed bombs we went online with the other schools in the projects and they watched us live. It was a once in a lifetime experience for them all. Here you can have a glimpse to our activity. It was also shared on the instagram page of the municipality. We also read about the ways to save water and decided to make a pledge for students to read and sign with their parents. In this way we spread our message beyond our classroom walls proudly.
